| The definition of peri menopause: peri*men*o*pause \-'men-u-"poz, -'mEn-\ n : the period around the onset of menopause that is often marked by various physical signs (as hot flashes and menstrual irregularity) |
So indeed, peri-menopause is the beginning of menopause, marked by the onset of menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and menstral irregularity. But why? It has been discovered that estogen can be stored by the fat cells in the body and slowly released, thereby providing some estrogen for the proper functioning of the female body. However, progesterone is not stored in the same manner. In fact, it's not stored at all. This results in a condition referred to as Estrogen Dominance. The dominant ratio of estrogen to progesterone has been found to cause many of the menopause symptoms that women suffer in peri menopause: hot flashes, menstrual irregularity and more. Recent research has found that natural progesterone can be extracted from the wild yam, mixed with other natural ingredients and applied topically as a cream. This natural progesterone cream is absorbed through the skin and introduces the natural progesterone evenly to the system, thereby counteracting the effects of Estrogen Dominance and relieving the symptoms of peri-menopause. |
